ACam Live Video App Reviews

Great app, tells me when someones at my computer with the motion detector, the sound picks up everything. Worth the money.

Very unstable app, it crashes all the time on my computer, it has potential but it seems that the manufacturer doesnt have a commitment to improve the product. In the meantime Im stuck with an $8 app that doesnt really work.

This is a great app! I use it as a puppy cam to spy on my little guy. It was shutting down a bit and now I updated, it works great again. Worth every penny!!!!!!!

I purchased this app after running the free Lite version as I was impressed with the slick and easy to use interface. One problem I had regarding emails not being sent was fixed within 24 hours, and the developer sent me an updated version of the software. He also helped me workout why I wasnt seeing the connect using IP address (it will prefer Bonjour if available). Talk about great support. As far as features, I would suggest to have better scheduling support, and also the ability to use/save URL name instead of an IP address (who remembers their IP address?) One other thing to be aware of is that this developer has a few other apps along the same lines but all slightly different. Specifically, the iPeekCam is also maintained by this developer, but it doesnt have audio support. Good work!

Macにもアプリをインストールしたり、ちょこっと設定したりしなきゃいけないので ほんのりと面倒ですが、かなり使えるアプリです。 うちの環境はCATV・BUFFALOのAirStation・MacOS10.5.5です。 以下、ざっくり設定方法です。 1.Mac側「ファイアウォールの設定」システム環境設定→セキュリティ→ファイアウォールでAir Camの受信接続を許可 2.Mac側「AirStationの設定（ポート開放）」Safari→http://192.168.11.1/（ルーターの場合）でログイン後、ネットワーク設定→アドレス変換でTCPポートを1726に設定（詳しくはBUFFALOのHPのQ&A参照） 3.iPhone側、Air Camで「Manual Connection」を選択し、自分のグローバルIPアドレスを入れてGO 4.iPhone側、Mac上のAir Camで自分で設定したパスワードを入れてGO これでばっちり、留守番中のネコとイヌをチェックできました☆ バージョン1.1にアップしてからつなげようとするとアプリが落ちるようになりました。 ↑MacにインストールしたAir Camもバージョンアップしてたらしく、 バージョンアップさせたら落ちなくなりました。すみませ〜ん。 バージョンアップで細かい設定が可能となり、音声も聞こえるようになりました。 ホント、素晴らしいです☆

Not good at all. not user friendly as set up...全然使えない。

ダウンロードしたばかりですが、自宅使用中のMacのメールアドレスとパスワードを設定するだけで、3G接続できました。所要時間１分未満。ネットで書かれているポート設定等は一切不要でした。夏に向けて、これがあれば自宅のペットも安心で、大助かりです。（使用環境　Mac OS SnowLeoperd, iPhone4, iOS4.X）

Connect Using IP address(iPhone側)のところで普通に設定できますよ。あとはPort forwarding(Auto-Configにしましたが)この場合もメルアドパスワードが必要ですが…

Very nice app and works well.Just have a little problem connecting using 3G.But works perfectly under thesame Wifi.

I should have gotten the lite version. This was a stupid impulse buy but the app does work. Quite often I have to restart my Mac for the air cam app to work. I would make an on/off toggle for the motion monitoring and another for the cam. Has potential but as of now its just ok.

Doesnt stream video from iPhone to Mac.

This app is a good idea, but it just doesnt work! it launches ok, then just freezes. and yes, I tried every setting and frame rate. Save your money. its just not ready for the big leagues yet.

Remote/3G log-in not working. Very disappointed.... Wifi-only/Lite version works fine

The free version works fine. The paid version locks-up as soon as the web cam shows the first frame (when it will even connect). I have a static IP address and 1Mbps up, 15 Mbps down broadband. My computer is a new 4 core windows 7 with 6gb ram. My iPad 3G speed is constantly between 2Mbps and 2.5Mbps down. Since this doesnt work for me, I have no idea who it would work for. Ive got the most current iOS installed and the most up-to-date windows version of the software installed on my PC. If this is fixed I will change my rating. Otherwise, can I have my $8 back?

I purchased the free one first to see if/how it would work. Worked perfectly so upgraded to full so I can use without wifi. Still works perfectly and immediately even with my lagging computer skills. Im way happy.

Waste of money

This app is way cool! If you do not wanna pay for ip cams and just want a simple security tool this app is app is for you! The latest updates made this work fabulous over 3G. I recommend this app. Its a must have and makes the iPhone even more useful. :D

Seemed to work fine for a while but then the problems start. No matter how I configured my router and the computer (5 days of messing around with firewall, router and other settings) the program still is crashing!!!! Money down the drain. Guess Ill stay with my ip cam that works fine.

Finally with the new update it works perfect for iPhones even when the power is cut it will reconnect on its own and return to monitoring ! Works with wake up on motion detection then emails your phone, you must change to proper email account, and port setting! Use a new gmail account, this will solve your connection problems!

I guess I didnt totally understand this app - I wanted to watch a TV news program live feed, it does not do that. $7.99 for not!
